Class 1 Create Cave Art…

Class 1 have created some realistic cave art after learning about Maria de Sautuola, who explored caves with her father many years ago.  The class have also considered where in the world people have chosen to explore and why.  

As part of computing the children have looked at representing data in different ways and how branching databases can be used to sort minibeasts.  

In maths, reception have been looking at the link between doubling and halving and year 2 how we can describe movement and turns.  

In English, year 2 have been reading a text called, ‘Stormy Rescue’ and reception have written about the text ‘Little Brown Mouse.’  

As part of our science topic on plants we have visited ‘Grow Local’ and seen for ourselves how soil and conditions have an impact on plant growth.  The class have also created compost and considered what can be composted but what should not be composted.  

In design the children are looking at how to make pictures or games with sliders.  Year 2 have been tasked with creating a learning game for reception.
