P.E. & Sport

Physical education builds confidence, character and embeds values such as fairness and respect.

We are passionate about the need to teach children how to co-operate and collaborate with others, as part of a team, understanding fairness and equity of play to instil life-long values.  When participating in competitive sport we teach them to transfer their positive attitudes to the activity ensuring they do their best and display good sportsmanship.

PE promotes an understanding in children of their bodies in action. It involves thinking, selecting and applying skills, and it promotes positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle. Thus, we enable the children to make informed choices about physical activity throughout their lives.

Swimming

The whole school (with the exception of Reception) participates in swimming. The school usually swims in either the Spring, Summer or Autumn Terms. They have the opportunity to earn badges and become more confident in the water.

Extra-Curricular PE Activities

At Kings Caple, we offer a range of extra-curricular activities for all children of all abilities to take part in. One of the after school clubs each week is a PE club which is run by a PE specialist. The children have the opportunity to experience a variety of sporting games such as netball, cricket, keep fit and football.
