Class 3 News – Underwater Collages, Maps of Europe & Creative Writing

C3 underwater collage 2

The year six children in Class 3 sat their SATs papers last week. We were immensely proud of the way the children took these tests in their stride showing maturity and resilience. Our SATs breakfast club included some delicious breakfasts including bacon rolls, pastries and pancakes – yum!

Class 3 have been getting creative and started making their own underwater collages. The children had full creative license to create their backgrounds, before they add their sea creatures and details on top.

We have been looking at the changing borders of Europe and looking at maps of Europe from different times, noting the changes. We talked about why this might be.

We have been busy writing different character and setting descriptions to enhance our creative writing skills. As well as this we have been focusing on spelling words we misspell in our writing, as well as joining our handwriting to make it easier for the reader to read our lovely writing.

In Maths we have been looking more at angles. We’ve learnt some rules of angles and using this knowledge to find the missing angles in shapes and on lines. We’ve also used protractors to measure various angles.

We’ve continued our discussion about remaining safe online. We’ve talked about different social networks that are available to adults and children and their benefits. We’ve also talked about how we need to use these safely and the dangers that could arise from using them.
