It is World Book Day on Thursday 5th March and we thought that you may like to have details of what we have planned:
- Dress up as favourite character from a book. If children want to dress up they can, if not they just wear school uniform as usual. Parents don’t need to spend loads of money on costumes! We will judge the best costume and the winner will win a book token.
- Shared story writing. We will be writing a whole school story. Class 1 will start the story, Class 2 will continue it and Class 3 will finish it off. This will be published on the website when finished.
- Mrs Harding will work with each class.
- We will be sharing our favourite books with the class. If children would like to bring in their favourite book to share that would be great.
- Extreme reading! I would love parents to take and send in pictures of the children doing Extreme reading…this is where the picture the child reading somewhere you would not expect them to be reading. If parents google ‘extreme reading’ they will get lots of fun ideas. Parents can then send them into us and we will create a display in school. Best extreme reading picture will win a book token too.Â
