We will shortly be ‘modernising’ our bug hotel. Whilst the bugs and creepy crawlies like older wood and the environment it creates, our current hotel is so old its falling over!
Could we ask that if you go on a walk over the coming weeks and see suitable material for the ‘layers’ of the hotel that you collect it and bring it into school. It may be that you have some of these materials in the garden…. but please ask the person that owns them if it is OK for you to collect them first. We are particularly looking for:
- Cones
- Straw or dried grass
- Bark
- Dry leaves
You may also have some suitable things at home, for example:
- The middles from toilet rolls
- Corrugated paper
- Bamboo canes
