On Monday we began the first of 10 swimming sessions at Ross swimming pool. The children were extremely well behaved on the coach and we were proud, as always, of their behaviour at the pool. The children are divided into three swimming groups – non swimmers, intermediate and confident.

Apart of the the obvious reason that swimming lessons can save a child’s life, swimming has obvious health benefits, improving strength and flexibility, increasing stamina and improving balance and posture. The activity also helps with a child’s self confidence and it is rewarding to see the accomplishment on pupil’s faces when they are given a challenge that they then achieve.

This will probably be the last year that the school swims over a 10 week period as the pool is looking to introduce a 2 week intensive course next year.
