Class 1 have finished their invented stories on an animal that finds or develops something.  We are now moving onto writing a non-fiction text, looking at how to write fact files on animals that live in the rainforests.  The children will research an animal and then write their own fact file.
In our topic we have looked at the different forests and this week we explored cloud forests, which the children thought were magical.  In maths we have looked at creating arrays and learnt how to create an array.  The class have also looked at making equal groups and how this helps us to share amounts of items.  In science the class have now made their own little greenhouses and set up an experiment to see if the greenhouse is more effective at growing their sunflower seeds.  They have planted some inside and some outside in the same location in the classroom.  We will be observing them closely for signs of germination.
In art we are continuing to look at the techniques used by Henri Rousseau and creating our own work in his style.
