This year Safer Internet Day will take place on Tuesday 6th February. The day, which is marked around the world, aims to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all and especially for children and young people. In the UK the UK Safer Internet Centre is focusing on change online, this includes:
- Young people’s perspectives on new and emerging technology
- Using the internet to make change for the better
- The changes young people want to see online
- The things that can influence and change the way young people think, feel and act online and offline
We will be incorporating lots of internet safety related learning in our classes on the day but we also encourage our parents and carers to access resources and reinforce the message at home. This year the slogan for the day is ‘Together for a better internet’.
Resources for parents can be found by following the link below but your own internet searches will unearth a myriad of others!
