We continue to take part in local recycling projects and most recently have been working with Golden Valley Recycling and Reuse Group. The aims of this project are to raise money for each participating school, to raise awareness of the benefits of recycling and reuse and to help cut back on waste.
We are therefore now collecting the following:
- cheese packets
- Food storage containers
- Pringles tubes
- Bakery plastic bags
We will have one drop-off per term (as we have historically). Our first session will be w/c Monday 21st October. During this week we will collect daily between 10am and 12 noon (not including Friday 27th). At these events we will take:
- Clothing, bags, belts and shoes (both adult and child)
- Books, DVD’s, CD’s
- Toys, games and puzzles
- Crockery, china, cutlery and kitchen utensils
- Bikes (both adult and child)
- Stationary including paper, pens and pencils
- Garden and hand tools
- Vintage items
- Suitcases
- Mobile phones, tablets and laptops
- Electrical leads
- Cameras
- Bedlinen (not duvets and pillows)
- Small electrical appliances
We also have a clothing bin for textiles and a two further wheelie bins for books, CD’s and DVD’s and one for clean washed foil and drinks/food cans to help a group of adults with learning difficulties based in Hereford.
All recycling bins can be found in the bike-shed to the rear of the school car-park and all monies collected via these initiatives will be passed to the PTFA.
