Unfortunately, last year’s Year 6 children were unable to attend the trip due to COVID-19. We have, however, booked the dates for next year with the possibility that children will be able to go.
For those parents who have already had a child take part in one of our Year 6 residential weeks, I’m sure you’ll understand why the children want to go and just how much they get from it. For those parents who have not had a child go away before, please feel free to speak to Mr Gittins about it to see the benefits for the children.
Several adults from the schools in the federation accompany the party (an adult from Kings Caple would be with the Kings Caple children), but all of the activities are led by qualified instructors from the centre. The activities we will participate in during the week will include PAINTBALLING, RAFT BUILDING, QUAD BIKING, HIGH ROPES, INFLATABLES and CLIMBING TOWER.
We are hoping that the trip will go ahead as planned, but this may change due to COVID-19 restrictions and we cannot guarantee that it will happen at all. We appreciate that these are uncertain times which is why we will not be asking for any payments or deposits during the Autumn term in order to reserve your child’s space. Oakerwood are holding our booking until January, at which time we will hopefully have a better idea of whether we can definitely go ahead or not.
Next year the Oakerwood trip will take place on Monday 24th – Friday 28th May 2020.
The cost of the trip will be £255. As we cannot take a deposit at the moment, please be aware you might be asked to pay higher instalments closer to the time.
We would be grateful if you could email admin@kc.hmfa.org.uk with the following message if you are interested:
I would like my child………………………………….(name) in class…………………………. to participate in the Oaker Wood Leisure Adventure Week 2021. I understand that, at the moment, there is no guarantee that the trip will go ahead and that I may be asked to pay higher instalment amounts closer to the time.
Please could you let us know your interest by 23rd October 2020.
