In English, children have been creating their own advertisement for an item brought in from home and they used persuasive words to encourage people to buy it.  They have also recapped their knowledge of conjunctions and their role in sentences as a linking word to join two clauses together.  Pupils will move on to writing their hot task next, which involves selling a country cottage to potential buyers.
In maths, pupils have been adding various money amounts and making different totals using combinations of coins/notes.  They have solved money problems and will move on to calculating change given.

In topic, children have researched the countries that have hosted the summer games and identified the flags of these respective nations.  Pupils have investigated the continent that has never hosted the games and explained why this may be the case.

In science, pupils have investigated the germination of cress seeds and recorded the results over a week.  They have observed the changes that they underwent and what conditions they require for optimum growth.
In French, children have learnt new vocabulary relating to the months of the year and the seasons.
In computing, pupils have continued to research an Olympic sport of their choice and how their game is played.
