Class 1 have been working hard on addition and subtraction in maths and looking at how to add across ten in Year 2. The children have enjoyed our model text about Trixie an adventurous penguin and are currently retelling the story following their story maps.
In science we have made a wormery and the children have predicted that the worms will mix the sand and soil as they move around. They are currently observing it after lifting the cover which keeps the earthworms in the dark.
In geography the class have considered the North and South Poles, the physical features of both and used a globe to locate the equator and have learnt about what it is like at the equator in terms of weather and seasons. In DT the children have really enjoyed making moving parts ready to design a moving monster picture.
In computing we have learnt about creating algorithms to solve different problems and applied this in programs such as LightBot.
