Class 1 have been busy this week looking at how to develop character descriptions by using interesting adjectives. They have written different descriptions of classmates as well as characters from the books we have read in class. In maths the whole class have been using place value to understand counting forwards and backwards from given numbers and will be moving onto addition and subtraction next. In science the class have been looking at the changes in autumn in the local area from the fruit and vegetables that are available to the colours of the leaves. In art they have extended their knowledge of autumn colours to mixing different shades to create autumn leaf pictures. Reception and year 1 are working hard on their phonics. Reception have settled in so well and are enjoying playing together, making friends and exploring the environment in and around the school. In topic work we have all explored the local area a little more and studied what makes a village.
