On Tuesday 20th March staff and pupils took part in a Learning Through Landscapes workshop which was provided as part of our winning Nature Grant bid. A specialist Learning Through Landscapes trainer came into school to undertake a carousel of activities with staff and children. The carousel activities included: how to age a tree in playground; how to measure the height of a tree; storytelling using items found all around the playground and maths activities delivered through using outdoor learning techniques. We were also all given a demonstration on how to use our new storm kettle.
Despite the cold weather the children loved their afternoon outside and the opportunity to engage in learning using new outdoor techniques.
