Class 1 are excited to start lots of Christmas craft activities and have already made baubles, Christmas gonks and Christmas trees. Â They have used a wide range of skills from weaving to paper folding. Â
In English, the class have finished their story of Trixie and are now looking at writing instructions. Â As part of our writing, we used role play to create bug hotels and have considered how many ways we meet instructions from recipes, craft projects to how to build things. Â
In mathematics the children are looking at both 2D and 3D shapes and their properties, learning lots of vocabulary such as edges and vertices. Â
In geography we have considered what it is like to live near the equator and the world’s climate zones, comparing the UK with Kenya. Â
In science the children have completed work on microhabitats and enjoyed seeing all the creatures ‘Roaming Reptiles’ brought to the school. Â The class have been very creative with their moving monsters project in design technology with some great use of levers and linkages.
