In Maths, they’ve been doing measurements and place value. Reception have been extending their counting. In Science, they have been looking at unusual objects and determining what materials they are made of. They’re going to be looking at changes of daylight!

They also drew in 2nd in Steps to Success with Class 2 from the previous half term.

Class 2 News

In Maths, the children are doing number bonds to 10 and 100; soon moving onto Symmetry. In English, the children are learning capital letters and full stops. They’re soon going to be inventing their very own story! In Science, they’re testing magnets; RE, they are looking at Ramadan – continuing their Islam topic for RE!

They also drew in 2nd in Steps to Success with Class 1 for the previous half term.

Class 3 News

In Maths, the children have been playing the 24 Game! The Year Fives and Sixes enjoyed it last year and the Year Fours are now playing the game also! It was very fun. In Topic (History: World War 2), they have been doing rationing and have been making their own ‘ration cake’ which was eggless because they found out that the egg was rationed to one egg a week! Even when the teacher cooked it in the oven, it was a stone. In half term, the children were busy making their Anderson shelters which look absolutely fabulous.

Class 2 Anderson Shelters

In Science, the children have been looking at how material and liquid sometimes changes when they’re mixed – like corn flour and water make a stained liquid on your finger. It’s really not very nice.

They also won 1st Steps to Success by one step in the half term.
