This week in writing, we have begun to explore our new story ‘The Impossibly Possible Bookshop’. We have learnt the story and drawn comic strips, written descriptive sentences to describe characters and made our own goblins out of clay to bring the story to life (we will paint them when they are dry). Our goblins will stay with us now as we explore the story in more detail and will be the main characters in our own portal stories for our hot task.
In Maths, we have started learning/revising column addition and subtraction. For extra challenge, some of us have been solving word problems or using problem solving skills to answer reasoning questions using column method.
In science, we have been investigating mixtures and solutions as part of our ‘materials’ topic. We have made alien soup and started the process of growing our own crystals to explore how solutions dissolve and evaporate.
