Food Safety and Hygiene Inspection

Food hygiene rating

On Wednesday 15th January we received an unannounced inspection from Herefordshire Council’s Environmental Health department regarding school lunch provision.

The inspection judges the level of current compliance with regards to food hygiene and safety procedures, including food handling practices and procedures and temperature control. It also judges the confidence in food safety management and control systems by considering the attitude of management towards hygiene and safety, the availability of hygiene and food safety technical knowledge including hazard analysis, the control of critical points and the implementation of satisfactory documented procedures and food safety management systems.

Following the inspection Kings Caple Primary were awarded the maximum national food hygiene rating of 5 (very good) with each area of inspection receiving the maximum score of ‘0’/very good. The report records ‘excellent standards observed’.
