Exploring Climate, Blending Sounds and Understanding Why The Titanic Sank in Class 1

Seasonal tree 1

The year 2’s have been considering the question of, ‘Who was responsible for the loss of lives when the Titanic sank?’  They have discussed the different actions of the crew, builders and other ships which had an impact on the outcome after it struck the iceberg.  After this the children have written their own ideas.

Reception have now started to learn more sounds and are beginning to learn how to blend.  In maths year 2 are using number facts to add single digits and two 2-digit numbers using different methods.

In science the class have explored how the climate across the UK can change and how the north can be much colder.  In computing the children have now finished learning about online safety and understand how to make secure passwords and keep personal information safe.  In art the class have used lines and shapes to create portraits in the style of Paul Klee.
