Unbelievably, we have almost reached the end of the summer term and the end of the school year. Inevitably, this means that we must say goodbye to our Year 6 children who will now move on to the next chapter of their academic careers at secondary school. Many of them have spent their entire primary school years with us and we have seen them all blossom and grow as individuals and have watched as strong friendships have been forged. Each child has been an asset to the school and we will miss them very much. Staff and students alike send them all our very best wishes.

This year we will also say goodbye to several other children who will move to other schools. Again, we will miss you all and similarly wish you all the very best in your new settings.

Sadly, we will also say farewell to Mrs Wardle who is as you all know, is leaving us at the end of this term. We will all miss Mrs Wardle who has been a part of the school for several years. Saying goodbye will be hard for us all but we have all been lucky to have the opportunity to have her as a teacher and work colleague and we all wish her well in the future.

Miss Miller will also end her secondment with us and will return to Lord Scudamore. We hope that she has enjoyed her time with us as much as we have enjoyed having her in school, although happily we will continue to see her at HMFA events.

Goodbye’s invariably lead to ‘hello’s’ and so we also look forward to September and to the return of Mr Gittins as Head of School and to a slightly altered class structure. We also look forward to welcoming our new Reception children to our school community.

Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to both the children and to their parents/carers. In sometimes challenging times, not least the extreme heat of the past few days, the children never fail to make us proud. They continually give of their best, show kindness and respect and make Kings Caple the lovely village school that it is. Our parents and carers demonstrate continuous support for which we are extremely thankful and all the staff wish our pupils and their families a very happy summer holiday. Enjoy!

We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 6th September.
