In English, children have started to make changes to the class text ‘Charlie’s Bag’ and will write their new, innovated versions next. We have focussed on how to use commas in lists and speech marks correctly. We also had great fun in creating alliterative phrases of our own to describe food with varying adjectives for description.
In maths, children have identified right angles in the classroom and explored their presence in many familiar 2D shapes. Pupils have sorted shapes depending on a set of criteria and have completed repeating patterns. They have enjoyed our investigations on shape this week and will move on to position and direction next.
In science, pupils  have identified world habitats and how many animals can survive/adapt to live in such harsh conditions. We will move on to exploring micro habitats present in the school grounds, before identifying which creatures thrive in these different environments.
In PSHE, children have reflected on what their New Years resolution is for 2017 and how it might be achieved.
In topic, pupils have studied pictures of Egyptian artefacts and their function. They have raised questions on their purpose and their importance to people researching more about this period. Â Children will move on to looking at how people lived in this era by looking at pictures and other sources.
