Class 2 Look At Jellyfish, Explore Timekeeping Devices and Learn About Shabbat

Jellyfish class 1 2025

Class 1 are really enjoying our new focus text in English – The Search For The Arctic Jellyfish.  Reception have been playing and using their imagination in our small world area.  The whole class have used different art techniques to create their own jellyfish and explored how to mix paint using bubble wrap to create some spectacular jellyfish.

In computing the children have considered what makes good and bad commands when writing instructions and the importance of the correct sequence.  In history the class are coming to the end of their topic on changes in the home and explored how timekeeping devices have changed in the home.  We have looked at how both animals and plants have senses and incredibly how some plants actually move when touched!

Reception are working hard to recognise the numbers 6,7,8 without needing to count when shown in different ways using objects, fingers and ten frames.  Year 2 are using multiplication and division in mathematics and are beginning to look at the divisibility rules for 2,5,10 and 3.

For our RE topic we have considered how Jewish families live and celebrate on the weekend at Shabbat.
