Class 2 have really taken on the challenge and smashed through the wall that is fractions. We have seen huge improvements in all areas, and I am so thrilled with everyone’s progress.
Our room 101 discussions were interesting and provided much entertainment. We are closing in on finishing our persuasive letters, and I’m really looking forward to the final outcome – watch this space 🙂
Comprehension has provided us the opportunity to look into ‘comparisons’ and enabling the children to see the importance of making comparisons within a text and provide a level of critique where necessary.
We have finished our final 3D group art sculptures. The children worked together to share and combine their own individual designs to create some wonderful pieces. We will now evaluate these this coming week.
During Science, we have been identifying fossils and the process of fossil formation. We will be concluding this half-term’s topic looking into soil, working scientifically to understand its importance and the process of its formation.
We have all really enjoyed learning about the Romans, paying close attention to their army and its importance to the Roman Empire. The children have explored what a solider would wear in combat and looked into battle formations – creating their own wedge and testudo!
I must add a huge well done to all of class 2 and Mrs Haines for their continued hard work and levels of creativity during moving targets, you are all doing a wonderful job – well done!
