In English, children have been inventing their own instruction text and using adverbs to explain how an imperative verb is done.  They have organised their work to make it easy to read for their audience.  Pupils have identified titles, sub – headings, time connectives, verbs and adverbs within this style of writing and are incorporating these features into their own work.
In maths, pupils have developed mental and written strategies for subtraction.  They have used either column subtraction or the number line method to show their working out. Children have moved on to identifying and exploring the properties of various 2D shapes, as well as looking for lines of symmetry and types of angle.
In science, children have named different world habitats and investigated what animals and plants thrive in these environments.  Pupils have explored how animals adapt to their surroundings in order to survive.
In RE, pupils have studied the religious significance of various symbols associated with Advent and Christmas.
In French, children have recapped their numbers to 20 and learnt new vocabulary relating to the celebration of Christmas.
In computing, pupils have used an image/sound recording app to create a simple animation of their own.
In topic, children have learnt how London was re – built after the Great Fire and played the part of an architect who was in charge of re – designing the city to ensure another disaster on this scale would not happen again.  The pupils’ drawings included water stations, a new and improved St. Paul’s Cathedral, wider streets, brick houses and a local fire station depot.
