Class 2 have settled fantastically well after the Christmas break – well done all 🙂.
We have hit the ground running and tackled all things fractions in maths and although it can at times be tough going, they are all working incredibly hard and as a result making quick progress.
In English we have begun looking at writing persuasively. This week we are linking it to letter writing and looking at the key features needed to successfully write a persuasive letter of their choosing, they will be using a room 101 style to determine the content of their letter.
During our comprehension lessons we have being looking what is word choice and word relationships to help improve our understanding of reading comprehension.
Art has been crazy with the children exploring the world of 3D sculpture. They have been using a number of methods and materials to create abstract art forms taking some inspiration from Sir Anthony Caro.
In Science we are looking at the properties of rocks, we have undertaken an investigation to find out if they are permeable or impermeable and if certain rocks would suffer the effects of acid rain.
During History we have begun looking at why the Romans settled in Britain and discovered that Britain had many things the Roman desired. Over the coming weeks we will look more closely at the invasion and the impact it had on Britain.
