Class 2 have been working fantastically well showing a great level of patience and resilience as we build up to the busy Christmas period. I have been so pleased by their endeavours to learn their times tables and this is really showing within their multiplication and division work.

We have begun to explore Christmas Kenning poetry and will be spending some time concentrating on our punctuation and grammar skills.

During science the children have been working scientifically looking at all things magnetic. Geography has seen the children use atlas skills to location mountain ranges, volcanic regions and plate boundaries. We have focused on why people live near volcanoes and looked at the positive and negative effects of doing so. I am amazed by their enthusiasm and excitement for learning and how they demonstrate a level of critical thinking and understanding. Our Geography work has of course coincided with a rather heightened level of volcanic activity which has supplemented our learning.
