We have arranged a trip for classes 2 and 3 to visit the Envirosort Plant in Worcester on Thursday 6th February 2020. The plant receives, sorts and dispatches all the clean recyclables collected from households across Herefordshire and Worcestershire and this provides us with a unique opportunity for us to show the children what happens to all the recyclables that they have been collecting in school.
The children will be able to see first hand what happens at the facility from the safety of a viewing platform as well as participating in classroom activities designed to complement the National Curriculum. Â The plant operates within a closed environment and noise is kept to a minimum with hearing protection provided if required. The waste that is processed is clean and dry which means that there is no offensive odour.
There is no cost to school as Envirosort covers the cost of transport but we do ask the following:
- Children should be at school on the day for 9am prompt as we will need to leave on time. We will not be able to wait for any children who are late.
- Children should wear school uniform and sensible shoes. A coat, scarf and hat should also be provided.
- All children will need a packed lunch and drinks. As usual we will ask the kitchen to change any hot meals ordered on 23rd January to a cheese packed lunch. If parents wish to provide their own packed lunch please let the kitchen know on 01989 567660 so that the school does not pay for unwanted food.
We should return to school for the normal 3pm end of the school day, traffic permitting.
Please return consent forms at the bottom of letters as soon as possible.
