Class 1 have been busy measuring and comparing heights and lengths using objects and metric measurements in mathematics. Â Reception have also looked at sequencing events and time.
In English, the class have been looking at information texts , using a text about rainbows as reference, to understand the key features of this type of writing. Â They are now going to produce their own information text on thunderstorms. Â
As part of their geography topic the class have learnt the compass directions and in relation to school what lies in each direction. Â We have looked at the weather across the UK and we are recording our local weather. Â
Our design project on windmills is at the construction stage and we will soon be assembling the different parts to join the sails to the main part of the windmill. Â
In music the children are singing songs about animals and making their own music to represent different animals. Â
In science the class have been learning about the features of different animal groups and how to sort many different animals by these features.
