Class 1 and the whole school have been busy working on their performance of our school production of Eddie the Penguin Saves the World.
Class 1 have studied penguins and created lots of art work with the aim of developing their cutting and DT skills. They used different materials to create images of penguins. The class studied how to write instructions last week and after reading a set of instructions they were able to understand how to make stained glass biscuits for the school Christmas Fair.
As part of science they have read facts about penguins and used this to label the features of penguins. The class listened to open book this week in RE and heard part of the nativity story, acted out by the group with some Kings Caple children as extras.
In maths the year 1’s have used counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to understand how numbers can be multiplied. They have seen how this can be applied to counting different things in some number problems.
