Class 1 have had a lovely time preparing for and celebrating the King’s coronation.  The class learnt all about the important aspects of the coronation and how the ceremony is conducted.  The children made crowns and wore these at our celebration afternoon tea with parents.

In maths the children have been learning about fractions and time for Year 2.  Reception are looking at the composition of numbers beyond 10 and are building on their number facts.

In science the class have looked at the African habitats and different habitats that animals live in.  To show their understanding the children worked in small groups to create mini habitats, adding in the creatures that would be found in each habitat.  We were very fortunate to be visited by a lady who works and lives in Zimbabwe and the children created lots of interesting questions for her to enable them to explore what it is like to live in this part of Africa.  Following on from this the children have written facts about Zimbabwe and a thank-you letter for our guest.
