Class 1 have been very busy looking at their new focused text in English – ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’.  They have described the character Plop and looked at some of the interesting word choices used in the text so far to describe.  Years 1 and 2 have been busy finishing a reading assessment and have worked hard to comprehend given texts and the vocabulary used in them.  In maths the whole class are looking at addition and finding out lots of facts and related number facts from the bonds they have learnt.  In reception they have used objects to show the facts they have learnt for numbers up to 6!

In science we are looking at the changes in the seasons by considering the weather.   We will be monitoring and recording the weather in class.  In art the children have created different firework images using different techniques. Reception have created some beautiful owl pictures using fingerprinting as part of our English text to describe Plop.   The class have been doing lots of drama and role play activities to give them the opportunity to show what they can recall about the events of the Great Fire of London and this week we went on a virtual tour bus of different places that were affected by the fire in 1666.
