Class 1 have been busy learning the actions to support them to retell the whole story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They have learnt the story so well now they have been showing staff how they can say it quickly, quietly and carefully. The Year 1 children have been using their talk for writing to start writing their own version adding describing words to make it more interesting for the reader.
In science we have continued to explore materials and used junk modelling to talk about some every day materials around the home. In topic we have made a comparison with houses in the past and what we have in our own homes today.
All the children are working very hard to learn new sounds and use them to develop reading. Practical activities such as using Playdough gives them the chance to create and begin to blend words from the sounds they have mastered.
We loved seeing our mums and dads visit on our coffee morning and the Year 1 children were fantastic helpers.

In maths we have used games to reinforce number recognition and the Year 1 have been learning how to write the numbers in words.
