Class 1 have started their new topic, Africa and have talked about the interesting facts that they already know and are keen to learn lots more about the continent. Â We have found out where the continent can be found on a world map and have looked at some key features of the locality. Â The children have also compared school life with that of their own experience, in a village location. Â
The class have all listened to the story of Handa’s surprise and completed different activities to show they can recall the plot. Â In year 2 the children have used alliteration to describe the fruit and reception matched the fruit with the animal that stole it from Handa’s basket. Â
In science the class finished off their work on how to grow healthy plants by planting a variety of flowers, vegetables, and herbs, which they are going to care for in school until they are healthy seedlings and then they can plant them out at home to share with their families. Â
In year 1 the children are looking at multiplication and division and year 2 are learning about fractions. Â For our RE this term, we have begun looking at what makes some places sacred for different religions.
