The new reception intake this year have settled into school beautifully.  They have made friends and are already demonstrating what they know about lots of things.

Obviously, following the sad news of the loss of our Queen, we have focused on helping the children remember the reign of the longest monarch with activities about the life of Queen Elizabeth II.  The class have been engaged in creating a lovely display outside the school and have looked at the different places the Queen lived in and their locations in the UK.

In maths, Year 1 and 2 are looking at place value and are developing their counting skills. For art we have started our colour topic by looking at Mondrian and the children created their own art inspired by his use of primary colours.  The class are considering materials in science and their properties, and we are starting our topic of the Great Fire of London this week.  The class will be creating a timeline of events and comparing firefighting techniques.
