Class 1 Look at the Monarchy, Experiment With Plant Growth and Make Pinch Pots…

In English we completed our own versions of a pirate tale, and the pirates all got the treasure in the end!!  In mathematics the whole class have learnt to tell the time and used lots of practical activities to practise this; using clocks, games and solving some tricky problems.  

In history the class have looked at the start of the monarchy in Britain and events that led to the construction of castles as a form of defence.  This week they have begun to look at some famous monarchs and the impact they had on the country.  As part of our art project the children have developed skills in the use of clay and created some beautiful pinch pots.  

Our science experiments into plant growth showed some interesting results, and the children were fascinated when seeds germinated in some surprising mediums!  As part of our computing topic the class loved making some short, animated stories.  We have also been using the sounds of the sea and countryside to listen and enjoy making our own music.
