Reception have been working so hard to learn their sounds and are now beginning to blend cvc words using their new sounds! Year 1 and reception are busy learning the story of The Little Red Hen and have already performed to other staff, using actions, the whole story.
In maths the year 1 have been investigating the properties of 2D and 3D shapes, ensuring they recall the correct mathematical names and terms.
As part of our preparation for harvest we have also looked at what Harvest means and the importance of preserving our produce.
In science we have moved onto looking at how animals prepare for winter and the reception children created their own den for hedgehogs to hibernate.
In art the class all considered how primary colours are used by some artists and created some Mondrian art using both colouring and Lego.
