Class 1 have found our new topic of China really engaging and have created lots of interesting questions that they would like to find the answers to. Â We have started by looking at where China is in the world and the continent it is part of. Â
In English, the children are looking at the text, ‘The Magic Paintbrush’ and have created a story map with classroom objects together to help them retell the story. Â They have talked about the characters and their feelings, writing a description of the emperor. Â
In maths reception are looking at ways to represent number bonds and to consolidate their understanding of doubles. Â Year 1 and 2 are developing a greater depth to their understanding of time. Â In art the class have created some 3D towers using card and will be moving onto more paper sculptures. Â For Design Technology the children have considered how wheels work and how to fix faulty wheels.
In computing the children have begun to look at ways we can use computers to represent data.
