Class 1 have completed some African Art and DT projects based on their topic and after finding out about African culture including African drums, mask and shields.
The children have really enjoyed listening to and joining in with some African songs, music and dances.
In English, the class have read the story Meerkat Mail and have written character descriptions and a postcard from the character after visiting a location of their choice. We have completed reading comprehension activities to find out about how camels adapt to living in the desert and other non-fiction texts in year 1.
For maths reception have explored odd and even numbers and how they are combined to form a general rule. Year 1 have worked on describing position and how to write a route using positional language. Year 2 are considering how to collect and present data using tally marks and how to interpret data in a table.
In topic we are moving onto looking at the African rainforest. They have already learnt about some of the animals that live in the rainforest and created a wonderful drawing of the plants and animals.
