In the last few weeks the children have planned and completed some fantastic Traction Man stories.  They created their own story lines and thought about the sentence structure.  The children used different words to open the sentences and used interesting words to describe.  We shared the stories and ideas, which helped the children develop their own stories.

In mathematics the class have been exploring doubling and halving and the reception have become experts, doubling numbers up to 10 and beyond!  The Year 1 children are looking at ways to secure their number facts to add and subtract.  They have even found how using near doubles can help with mental calculations.

In science the class have explored their senses and tested their own sense of smell, touch and sight.  This week they created and looked at ways our eyes can be tricked with optical illusions. In art the children have really enjoyed colour mixing and this week they have created different shades of green, they could explain how being linked to nature, it has the most varied number of shades than any other colour.
