Class 1 have been studying the text of The Elves and the Shoemaker and they have just finished writing their own versions changing the main character and some small aspects of the plot. In maths the whole class have been building up their skills for addition and subtraction and looking at different methods.
The children have really enjoyed creating different maps, looking at aerial views of the area and the geography of Kings Caple. In science the class have investigated different materials and the properties they have. As an experiment they tested different materials for absorbency and found some materials were able to absorb large amounts of liquid.
In computing we are looking at how algorithms are important when creating a program. As part of our music the class are considering pulse and rhythm and will be learning to play simple rhythms on an instrument. For design technology the children are designing and creating a puppet and evaluating different ways to join fabrics.
