Class 1 really enjoyed visiting Goodrich castle and were given a treat by the two guides, who took the children through their training to work in the different areas of the castle from the chapel to the kitchen.
The class explored the defences of the castle and the key features, linking it to what they have already found out about castle life. Â The entrance to the castle was their favourite part allowing them to see where the portcullis would have been, the arrow slits and murder holes. Â The children were able to march along the battlements and pretend to shoot arrows at any invaders.
