Class 1 have been recapping their knowledge from our recent geography work on understanding where the UK is found in Europe and in the world. Â We have also considered the weather in the different seasons and have been on a spring walk, looking for signs of spring. Â Following this, the class have created journey sticks to show what they spotted. Â
In mathematics the class have used rulers and non-standard measures to compare length and are just moving onto mass. Â Reception have also looked at how we can describe time, ordering events in a day and learning the days of the week. Â
In English, the children have used the story of ‘The Lion Inside’ to write about the characters and the year 2’s are creating their own version, changing the characters and setting. Â
In PE, recently we went to Point 4 and took part in a multi-skills event. Â The children used throwing, catching, and balancing to complete lots of different activities. Â
In design we are now looking at the stability of structures in readiness to plan and create a stable structure with a specific design criteria. Â Our science topic has captured the children’s interest as we are looking at different animal groups and their features. Â We are currently creating a classroom display with some examples for each group. Â So far the children have made a scrapbook, showing some examples of each animal group and they have named them. Â We will be adding information as we expand our learning.
