Class one have been busy writing their own versions of Owl babies using some fabulous vocabulary. The class have looked at different characters for the setting and considered ways to improve and develop their sentences. In science we have all looked at where different animals choose to live and how different places suit different animals.
As part of their maths work the class have been partitioning numbers and looking at number facts. Year 1 have been working on using this when adding and subtracting numbers and using both objects and the numberline to calculate their answers.
For art we have further explored how artists use colours by looking at the work of Kandinsky. In music the class have explored how the world is depicted by such artists as Holst. They compared this to the mood of the music from Peter and The Wolf and they linked how a composer wants to make you feel differently. In RE the class have compared a church with a mosque.
