Class 1 3D Models of Kings Caple & Autumn Collages

Class 1 Kings Caple Village Scenes 2

This week has been very busy in Class 1.  The children have been creating lots using their cutting, sticking and knowledge of the village of King’s Caple.  They all created their own 3-D model of the village, adding model houses.  Alongside this, as part of our Harvest studies, we looked at different fruit and vegetables that are usually harvested in the autumn.  The class then created a collage of an apple.  Reception, as part science this week, looked at hibernating animals and chose to make hedgehogs.  The year 1 children looked at hibernating and migration and some common animals to find out what they did at this time of year.  For Maths in class we have begun to learn number facts and use these to solve simple word problems.  The children will secure these facts for numbers up to 20 over the next week.  Reception have been doing lots of practical maths combining two sets of objects to find a total.  In English, the class have listened and explored the text for the story, ‘Stuck’.  They have talked about improving the objects as described in the text by adding more interesting adjectives.
