This year, Children’s Mental Health Week will be celebrated between 3rd and 9th February and as usual Kings Caple Primary will be initiating lessons and activities that will empower our pupils to understand and react to self-awareness.
We want to raise awareness about mental health within our small community to help reduce stigma and highlight the importance of supporting all childrens’ emotional well-being. Helping a child understand and ‘get to know’ who they are helps them build resilience and grow and develop into happy and healthy young adults.
Throughout the week we will offer our children opportunities to prioritise their mental health through group discussion, creative expression and time to just listen to one another in a safe and supported environment.
Children’s Mental Health Week is organised by Place2Be and their website has lots of resources and activities for families to take part in from home. The theme this year is ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’ and Place2Be are partnering with Here4You, supported by The Walt Disney Company and the Inside Out 2 characters to explore this theme.
