Please note that from Monday 6th November 2023 the length of the school day will increase in line with Government guidance.
The Department of Education requires schools to extend the school day with children’s best interests in mind. There are several compelling reasons for this extension:
1. Academic Improvement: This additional time will allow teachers to cover the curriculum more thoroughly and provide additional support to students who may be struggling in certain subjects or extended further learning opportunities.
2. Enrichment Activities: The extended hours will also allow us to offer a wider range of enrichment activities, including sports, arts, and STEM programs, which can contribute to your child’s holistic development.
3. Preparation for Future Success: Longer school days can help students develop essential time management and study skills, which will benefit them in higher education and their future careers.
4. Social Development: The extended school day will provide more time for social interactions, fostering stronger friendships and encouraging positive peer relationships.
The school day will be:
Gates open at 8.35am
Bell rings at 8.40 am
Children ready to learn in class by 8.45am
End of the day is now 3.15pm
Clubs run from 3.15 – 4.00pm
We would like this to start on Monday 6th November but we understand that the adjustment to a longer school day may impact your family’s daily routines. To ease this transition, if you have any problems please don’t hesitate to contact us. Your feedback is important and we value your partnership in your child’s education. We are dedicated to working together to ensure that the extended school day is implemented as smoothly and effectively as possible.
