In maths, children have calculated change given when solving 2- step money problems.  Pupils have moved on to their new topic which is fractions and have recapped wholes, halves and quarters.  They have identified the numerator and denominator and how this helps us to recognise simple fractions of a whole.
In literacy, pupils have looked at how apostrophes can be used to show belonging in a sentence.  They have also completed their cold writing task, where we will focus on dialogue this half term and how it can be accurately written in stories.  Children have created story maps for the new model text, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.
In RE, children have discussed the church as the centre of a community and what different events/activities are held in this place of worship.
In French, pupils have learnt new vocabulary related to sports.
In topic, children have completed their research into an Olympic sport.  They have investigated the effects that the 2020 games will have on the city of Tokyo and move on to presenting data on medal tallies next.
In science, pupils have conducted an experiment with onions to describe how plants soak up water and have described the life cycle of a plant.
