In maths, children have developed their written methods for subtraction.  Year 2’s have been learning the number line method to calculate difference and year 3’s have been learning column subtraction.  We will be moving on to 2D shape next where we will identify various shapes by name and then investigate their properties, before sorting them to a set of given criteria.

In English, pupils have refined their instructional writing and will now write their hot task on making a sandwich, implementing all of their previous learning to improve on their first efforts at the beginning of term.

In science, pupils have investigated materials and their suitability for making a waterproof shelter.

In topic, children have enjoyed making a vortex to reflect a tornado using water and bottles.  They will then create a piece of art on tornadoes.

In RE, pupils have looked at special people through the story ‘The Good Samaritan’.  We will look at Moses next and why he is considered a special leader in the Jewish religion.
