A Busy Few Weeks for Class 1…

Owls class 1 autumn 2019

Class 1 have started the new half term reading the story of The Owl Babies.  The class have created different impressions of owls in art using natural materials and collage techniques.  They have looked at the characters and setting of the story and both year 1 and reception are now inventing their own version of the story using the story plot.

In maths the class have been busy counting, reading and writing numbers and have moved onto looking at how we measure time in days and months.  As part of science the class revisited how daylight changes in the seasons and after the clocks have changed observed where the sun is in the sky throughout the day.  We are then moving onto studying animals and where they live and how to look after pets.

As part of our PHSE we have looked at relationships and how to ensure we all respect and acknowledge our differences but maintain positive values and respect for each other. For RE we are currently looking at special places and have so far considered where we consider is a special place to us.
