In maths, children have been busy comparing and ordering 2- and 3- digit numbers. They have played some Tara activities to deepen their understanding of place value and number patterns. We will move on to adding and subtracting ones, tens and hundreds next and identifying odd and even numbers.
In English, pupils have identified nouns and noun phrases. They have written some noun phrases of their own to create a character description of the traveller in our model text, ‘Nail Soup’. We have looked at how interesting adjectives can make our writing more imaginative. Children will move on to changing the model text and creating their own variation of the story.
In science, children have looked at the importance of sun safety and how our eyes need to be protected from UV light. They have identified why these rays are so dangerous and the consequences of too much light entering our eyes.
In RE, pupils have looked at how God is expressed in the story ‘Jonah and the Whale’ and during the holy festival of Pentecost.
In French, pupils will be recapping numbers to 10.
In computing, children have been identifying the different parts of a computer and will look at input and output devices next.
In topic, pupils have identified the countries and their capitals which make up the British Isles. They have studied each nation’s relevant flags too. Children will move on to looking at past and present day photos of London, analysing their similarities and differences.”
